Like all of Comec's CNC machines, the Driver can be configured to suit customers’ individual production requirements. This in part is thanks to the fact that unlike many machine manufacturers, Comec design and build all the machine parts and components in-house thus affording them a high level of manufacturing flexibility.
As with all Comec machines great attention is given to the machine construction which is key to ensuring repeat machining accuracy, even with the most demanding machining applications. The machine base is made from 30mm thick solid steel plates which are electro-welded and milled in the dedicated DLM manufacturing facility owned and operated by Comec Group.
The Driver can be equipped with twin table operation, with the choice of mechanical pneumatic clamps, vacuum or a combination of both. As standard, a heavy duty T4 machining head with four cross spindles is fitted, controlled in 5 axis. On request, this can be upgraded to include a dedicated point to point drilling head. The Driver M50 has the option of twin vertical hopper feed loading systems, whilst the Driver J can have a horizontal belt loading system with lateral automatic discharge of the machined piece. In addition, on either model of machine it is possible to have CNC positioning of the workpiece loading benches giving quick and precise set up times. Dedicated 5 axis DDX machining software is included as standard, which can be upgraded with optimisation, simulation and anti-collision modules. A wide range of different parts can be produced on the Driver including chair elements, items for garden products, door frames, children's play equipment and kitchen face frames to name just a few.
Other CNC machines in the Comec range include the 3 and 4 axis MD Classic and MD TOP models as well as the Frontal CN through-feed double sided machine.
