200 guests from 10 countries joined together with current and past employees, customers, suppliers and members of the extended family to mark this historic milestone in business. The evening gave an opportunity to reflect on the incredible achievements that had been accomplished over the past decades and look forward to the future with a continuous focus on innovation.
The evening began with a drinks reception and was followed by a candlelit walk through the main cathedral to an organ fanfare which was described by a number of guests as spine-tingling. A delicious meal was served during which photos and music from the past 100 years was shown. After some presentations and a charity raffle that raised an incredible £2300 for local charity The Sensory Hive, music from The Mersey Beatles ensured that everyone could enjoy a real Liverpool experience and dance!
Managing Director Rachael Baker said "it was a real honour to be joined by so many people who have been part of the JJ Smith story, and to celebrate with them. At JJ Smith one of our core values is building long-term relationships with employees, customers and suppliers and you could really feel that in action on the night."
It was also a great opportunity to show off the vibrant city of Liverpool to many of our international guests. One visitor from Germany said "Liverpool is a crazy city. We enjoyed our time during this days in the city very much! Waterfront, wonderful diversified architecture, old store-houses, modern buildings, old buildings, white and red style. Everywhere art, museums, great graffiti, young people, life-music, pubs, …. A city full of life!"
A truly memorable night that will live on in the memories of everyone who attended.
