Half-Lap Machine To Produce Joints For Glazing Bars
The Copenstick TDL is designed specifically for the quick and efficient production of half-lap joints for the use in simulated divided light and traditional Georgian bars, window grills, and decorative cabinetry. Using half-lap joints instead of individually mitered pieces results in a stronger and esthetically pleasing assembly.
The half-lap joint is machined on both the vertical and horizontal bars to produce the interlocking joint. Since the 45 degree notch is the same regardless of the profile, tooling and changeover costs are reduced.
Fully profiled components can be processed without the fear of break-out. A high level of accuracy is attained due to the work-piece being milled on all three sides while remaining firmly clamped, this negates the need to rotate the work-piece during the machining cycle.
The Copenstick TDL is compact and conveniently runs of a single phase electric supply, The machine can be automated further with the Stromab programmable positioning system, available in various lengths.
The Copenstick TDL is designed specifically for the quick and efficient production of 90°Degs Half-lap joints for the use in Simulated Divided Light and Traditional Divided Light bars, window grills, and decorative cabinetry. Using Half-Lap joints, instead of individually mitered pieces results in a stronger and esthetically pleasing assembly. The Half-Lap joint consists of two parts. The vertical and horizontal pieces, which are, Half-Lapped, to produce the interlocking joint. Since the cut is the same regardless of profiles tooling and changeover cost is reduced.
