Father and son duo, Adam and Lance Allsop, have dedicated themselves to perfecting plantation shutters since their humble beginnings nearly 15 years ago. Their goal is not just to craft and install quality window coverings but to provide customers with standout service from their initial inquiry, through design and material selection, to installation, aftercare advice, and maintenance.
Adam Allsop shares their journey:
“Taking this next step into offering UK-made shutters to our expansive range of shutter styles has been a labour of love for Dad and I. Aside from being our greenest, most eco-friendly shutter range, customers can now benefit from one of the shortest lead times for wooden shutters with design to manufacture in as little as 4-6 weeks. “The team at JJ Smith supplies and maintains all our UK workshop machinery, including CNC machines for cutting and joinery and a Mitre Saw. Each cut within the shutter manufacturing process varies slightly at each stage. As the shutters move along the production line, four cutting machines perform distinct types of cuts. The CNC machine is to mainly cut the length of the frames, and it uses computer programming to drill all the necessary holes in the framing to help piece it together at other stages of the process. Investing in quality machinery is essential for us, which is why we chose JJ Smith's equipment to manufacture our unique products.
